Walt Disney World Blog
The Walt Disney World Critics meet up every other week to chat at a place called Mainstreet Mugs, a fictional coffee shop located on Main Street USA at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. It's a place where Disney fans can come to chat about WDW without feeling intimidated. Lots of Disney forums and podcasts around the net treat everyone like they're supposed to know it all... But here, we invite you to just be whatever kind of fan you are.
In 2007, radio personalities, Mike Miller and Justin Poe, decided to take their experience as DJ's to the internet world, and dubbed themselves The Walt Disney World Critics. The goal was to bring to the Disney online community a radio-like series that had sort of a morning show type feel to it... and to bring their honest critique to each and every attraction at the WDW resort without all of the fluff and sugar-coating. With a unique style unlike any Disney show on the net, the Critics became a smash hit among fans! However, In 2009, the show was halted due to several different conflicts behind the scenes.
The show was pulled from YouTube altogether, and the future of the series was uncertain. During this time, a short lived spin-off ran entitled Mainstreet Mugs LIVE, originally featuring both Mike AND Justin... and a third, female Critic, JL Knopp. (Nowadays, JL can be found on the weekly podcast InnerMouse). Later, Justin dropped out and was replaced by Glenn Watts for the remainder of the show's run. There are still traces of the old episodes floating around out there.
But Now... We are excited to say that in 2010, the show was given a revamp and was re-launched on YouTube, and is now (we believe) better than ever before! We hope you'll agree! Join both of the original Walt Disney World Critics... and see how each attraction rates, as they debate to bring you their final decision.... DO IT... or SKIP IT?
